SEDIMENT SERIES
The Sediment Series extends sculptural process into painting. Oil, pigment and volcanic stone dust are accumulated in successive layers, then compressed, scraped and removed so that the surface develops through deposition and abrasion. Stone dust generated through the carving of other sculptures is incorporated into the paintings, establishing a direct material continuity between the two bodies of work.
